Okie Dokes. After much emailing back and forth, we decided to read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by author Khaled Hosseini (same person who wrote "The Kite Runner"). - BTW I cried my face off during this movie, so we will see how I do during this book!I have to admit Whit and Kris had the book waaaaay before me, but they were ever so patient. That being said, I have CRUSHED them! I am like 1/3 done suckas! Lets all stop at about halfway through (you too readers) and we can have some discussion times!Hooray books!Emily
3 besties from high school, thrown into grown up lives. One in Texas, one with kids, the other a perpetual student (of university and life). Finding that it is hard to stay in touch, we decided to do something. Lets start a book club I thought. Whitney said Yes. Kristin was more like an 'I guess'. Good enough I thought. Now, in the back of my mind I am thinking 'ok now book clubs (in my brain) are old(ish) women sitting around drinking and bitching about their husbands / boyfriends / lovers.' Number one rule - none of that, maybe with the exception of SOME drinking. (although we are doing web based discussions, so it would be like sitting alone in front of the computer drinking - very pathetic.)Rule two - READ THE BOOK! NO CHEATERS ALOUD! Rule three - no spoilers. No one wants to put in the work of reading a whole novel, to accidentally read the dramatic ending on someone's blog. If it is a spoiler post, LABEL IT SPOILER! (same with comments people).Whit and Kris - feel free to add rules, as this is OURS! I - Emily, am going to write in blue, why don't you guys pick a color and that way we can keep track of who writes what!Love you ladies!Em
